This short figures indicates that shorts have ridden the bad news and obvious business deterioration to a point they consider a good close out. The majority of bad news certainly appears to be in the rearview mirror now. Has this ended in a short squeeze, no. Had it shown yet to be a screaming buy and severly undervlued, no. It's a good quality business but it's expensive and likely to be hammered again if it doesn't grow fast again.
The company now needs to provide it can sustain high single digit growth to justify the valuation, and if it does not, expect the shorts to return.
