BTW I might add, the shorters usually run amok on a day like today with the Dow down and gold down - yet it seems to be holding up rather well when compared to a lot of other gold miners.

IMO so long as there is no major damage on the Dow tonight and the price of gold doesn't tank (possible following the results of the US health care reform bill passing the US House not long ago), this could power on to $3.30 rather easily. I think a down night tonight though and I wouldn't be shocked to see Lihir re-test $3.00 again. Caution should remain, I personally see too much risk to buy/short now, probably better to wait for a clearer direction from the markets.
