There is something very, very dodgy with these figures, and with the whole short selling situation altogether.

    Take a look at IBA

2.8 mil reported as short on 19/9/08
1.0 mil reported as short on 22/9/08

a difference of 1.8 mil shares "bought back" between close of trade Friday 19/9/08 and close of trade Monday 22/9/08 (ie, must have been bought back on Monday). But there was only a total of 950k traded on Monday 22/9/08!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some serious questions must be asked here. I suspect there is a lot of underhanded unreported trading going on for the benefit of the big players, as usual the sucker small traders are getting shafted while the rich big players walk away with their multi million dollar bonuses and profits on hidden trades.
