Soho, I'm not sure about your scenario, the availability of shorts from my broker, may have just been that, meaning only the one broker, even though I can recall that he mentioned that all the lending from one fund would have effected a lot if not all the DMA providers,
BUT BUT, as of about 3weeks ago its back to the norm, I mean the levels of availability of shorts is open slather once again,
This is from my broker anyway, so it appears they are back to their normal uninhibited levels
But at the end of the day, even if there are a 1000 billion shorts available, whoo cares, as they can only efficiently be used at the correct place
