Recycling possibly won't be prioritised for some years. Factors such as the the warranties for tesla batteries would wear most cars out. Is it 8 years and unlimited km?
The reasons causing battery failure are fatigue and cracking of the anodes? Cathodes? Anyhow that cause has been rectified in laboratories to now well exceed 100,000 cycles with no real measurable reduction in capacity. Currently what we most commonly experience is our smartphones which after 500 to 600 cycles have lost a large portion of usability which then impacts us to regularly charge and carry portable batteries.
It could well mean that some time soon, a battery will actually outlast a vehicles life.
