There have been mini squeezes almost every month this year, particularly early April, mid May and arguably late June.
With the share price at these lows, potential to profit from shorting is minimal - the 'negative' side to shorting (if the share price increases) is much riskier at these low share prices. How much lower can the share price go? Perhaps 30%? However the share price is much more likely to increase 50%, which could really burn a lot of share holders.
Stocks spend 75% of the time rising, while only 25% of the time falling.
