Paul assuming the shorter borrowed the shares at a price above 6.8 then why would the lender let him close his position off market...or cash difference? If I loaned the shares out and wanted them back or to sell them, I would make the shorter start buying on market and be selling in to that buying or keeping them and drive the price higher.
Unless of course there was a set price or time frame. I admit to not knowing the ins and outs of shorting. DB
