Difficult to quantify as the RC has been having an impact on all Financial companies for past 6 months. What I did do was look at a YTD chart for 3 tickers - CBA , FSA and CCP there is a reasonable correlation of all in a slightly downward trend until 13 June 2018 when CCP takes a smack and drops well below the trend lines. The divergence actually shows both CBA and FSA recovering an upward trend but CCP tracks negative.

I too would love a USA based freedom of speech but the law wont give us that. I think that rules with a soft hand can get this fixed like prohibiting companies from, suing or providing financial help with legal fees for any officer or director to sue in their personal capacity. In addition I think you can then give companies the right to sue where an individual has not provided their identity and has caused harm to the company. You can even enhance it so that the company has to prove harm. However to allow Checkmate and others to short , release a report anonymously and probably closeout their positions when panic sets in - even if its only for a day is a huge injustice and not even supportive of free speech as we have no identity nor can we test the calibre of the report by way of the persons reputation or standing.

I don't love politicians and your points are well made but I can assume that whilst it is not in their interests to allow more free speech they will place the broader population on ignore. Every time I see some state or federal question-time I get angry- it always appears much like those classes we had where a particularly ineffective teacher had lost control of the class. However we deserve what we get because we don't demand any better.

I just think we need a better solution for a new world in which instant communication can destroy reputations and values that have taken years to build.
