My conjecture would be that they will try to drive the price down to below the CR level. For what purpose?
I don't know - perhaps there is some non tacit arrangement - ie not known in general - between lenders of the stock and the shorters to somehow capitalize on this CR. How this might be of benefit to whom is beyond me. Regardless I shall be taking up my entitlements at the issue price.
