Shorts?

Recently stumbled across JHC, appears quite a solid company in many aspects including its current financial position, growth, the ageing population industry perks, and also the CEO's healthy ownership.

However, one thing stands out that isn't so attractive, it's disturbing amount of shorted shares - ranging between 5%-8% since the beginning of the year (currently at 7%). Two of it's competitors being EHE and REG are only sitting on ~0.5% shorts. Would be appreciated if someone were to fill me in on what I'm obviously missing, apologies if the answer is an obvious one.
