supply and demand is a powerful thing. The minute you play with that balance eg by wanting to increase your holdings - the price will respond, you are creating new demand. The last thing you want to do as an acquirer is upset that balance before you are set.
As for money that changes hands?...who knows what money changes and where it goes?, esp if it is one continual loop.
