That said, if one compares STX to XEJ or another peer over a period of 1yr and beyond, I think it's safe to say it has outperform most of them. As with all statistical comparison, it is easy to pick and choose a timeline to suit one's argument. So if one chooses a timeframe starting from when it was 50c, then of course it has underperformed.

The market is made up of all sorts of "fascinating" people (that's the most appropriate and diplomatic adjective I can think of), so there will always be all sorts of different subjective biases, interpretations, valuations, and most importantly, emotions. Not to mention external macro risks such as sovereignty, wars, monetary and regulatory factors. All of these conflicting factors will lead to constant fluctuations. To judge any equity performance over a short term or expect linear progression is simply unreasonable/fanciful.

I was aware that on a compound basis it wasn’t 10% pa however as you rightly point out it, it depends on when you entered.

If you entered in June this year, you would be pissed off but the question then remains, why did you choose that point to enter given what the company has been achieving since mid-2019?
