gimo I think you may find that these short positions you refer to are not new daily shorts, rather the net number of (reported) uncovered shorts in the market. 16-20th movement I believe is a reduction in short positions as they get covered..hence this will be adding buyers to the STX market....in other words they are not adding to the selling queue.
