Can argue until you are blue in the face on who's responsible for Australia's perceived total dependence on mass immigration to be economically viable in 2024 and beyond. The fact that we are not a huge endorsement of either party red or blue over last few decades.
What concerns me about the current government seems to be a complete absence of a cap on the physical movement of people into oz at expense of our young renting folk and more vulnerable older individuals.
Surely the essence of any government (federal or state) is it's ability to provide adequate housing for the electorate or at the very least not to make a bad situation much worse.
If we had a demand for say 2,000,000 indian international students that passed all the tests associated with the visa requirements would the ALP just automatically let them in?
We have a cap on citizenry and PR of 190,000 per year but this has nothing to do with the physical movement of people into Australia, it's just a number.
