It always amazes me how easily some people will cede their freedoms by just saying they are unimportant, not relevant, not worth anything, or that some imagined safety should take priority.
The freedoms we have enjoyed have brought unmatched prosperity and human advancement. They have unleashed the potential of million upon million of human beings, they have protected people from powerful states, such states have a terrible track record of imprisoning, killing and suppressing their own populations. Yet we have people who chastise anyone who cherish freedom as freedumbers. Perhaps these will people will understand better when they are slaves and the realisation dawns that freedumb wasn’t so bad after all.
Can I suggest they pick up a copy of Adam Smiths Wealth of Nations and actually read it. Somehow I doubt they will.
