* today said that BHP was was gearing up for some major acquisitions. I know this may have been covered in other threads such as the S32 threads. However got me thinking what is for sale or what would be a good deal. As far as I can tell unlike Rio, BHP doesn’t seem to have any gold exposure and a number of asx listed companies in the gold sector are trading at very attractive prices compared to their cash flow. RMS and Capricorn metals in particular have mature operations that are pumping out the gold. I know copper, nickel and other battery metals are more sexy at the moment, but that would come with a huge premium, just look at the recent Nordent nonsense. I like the Aussie angle look at all the shit going on in South Africa and Chile even the states is having issues in terms of strikes and wage inflation etc. Lets keep it in Oz and what does Oz have a lot of? Profitable gold companies with positive cash flow at reasonable valuations so why not buy one or two or all?
