Sounds more like a fractured carbonate reservoir you are talking about. Acid jobs are very risky in sandstone reservoirs as you can cause more damage than you gain benefit. They are only used if you have a very good grasp on the mineralogy of your reservoir, and usually are only used in production wells to stimulate production. I don't think I've ever heard of it being used for a DST. Perhaps for an onshore carbonate field, but not on an offshore well.
