eartho ... the new world currency

In the beginning there was no reliable means of trading across borders, then the Gold standard came and international trade flourished, then after World War 2 the Gold standard collapsed and the USD became the defacto world currency. The yanks have abused the privilege of having the USD as the world currency, and hence, atm the world is searching for a new world currency. Gold doesn't cut it anymore as people say you can't eat gold, and you can't make Holdens out of it. The Euros looking ok, but in the end that could even follow the USD path.

The new solution is the Eartho, the Eartho is based on the total world Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or some other measure that the bean counters are happy with.
Each country's local currency is tied to the Eartho depending on their GDP relatove to the whole world GDP. Hence, when the whole world economy prospers, the amount of Earthos floating increases, etc.

For example, if the USA wants to buy oil from Russia, it doesn't pay for it with USD, Roubles or Gold, the USA converts some USD into Earthos and pays Russia in Euros.

Initially, Earthos will only be electronic money as the Euro was initially. But eventually Earthos will be printed and the whole planet will start using paper Earthos, then in the really long term, all other currencies will disappear and only the Earthos will remain.

Better start now and be quick as we only have ab-out 3.5 billon years before the expanding sun vaporises us all. Of course most of us will be on Mars by then, which will give us another billion years grace before we all head for another solar system, or maybe a stopover on Titan.
