Some legalize cannabis as medicine, like Germany, others decriminalize also the leisure consumption. The United Nations, however, consider cannabis as a harmful substance without medical value. This is likely to change soon: The UN seems on the way to ending the cannabis ban.

From 5 to 7 December, the United Nations Narcotic Drugs Committee (CND) will meet in Vienna. The Commission is the United Nations' single body for drug policy and the only one dealing with cannabis policy. At the meeting, the Commission will receive the final World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations on cannabis. Will the cannabis ban be lifted then?
