The stock price is predicting that GMG is insolvent or will become insolvent in the near future. Luckly the acting Chairman is a Liquidator.
Assuming GMG is geared at around 50%, the NTA will decline at twice the rate of the asset. So if asset prices are declining as fast as the say, 25% in one month in England. GMG's NTA could already be zero. The Banks might decide to put receivers in.
ON the plus side-
The Bank of England has just put a ton of cash into the banking system, so the Banks might not be too keen to call the loans in at this time. Plus all this printing of money, might start to re-inflate asset prices,as punters run away from cash and start buying hard assets.
