The economics of an onshore natural gas field should beat CSG by miles.
I note that MELs CSG wells to date have been free of water and hence have an economic advantage over watery CSG.
The costs of getting CSG from the central QLD coalfields to the coast now involves desalination of the water, the probable need to pump brine to the sea plus gas gathering & compression.
