    The word does derive etymologically through the mechanism of language but the comparison ends there because those people - the Philistines were not Arabians (today's Arabs) who originated from the Arabian Peninsula.

    The Philistines were not Arabs at all and obviously not Muslims because Islam started much later when they conquered the Levant. The Philistines were Greek or related to the Greeks from the Aegean Sea.
