The governments knee jerk reaction which has closed exports of live cattle to Indonesia is causing Malcolm Jackman heartburn I'm sure.
I read that he is increasingly upset with the delay in reopening the live cattle trade but maybe he should do more.
If it were my business (which partly it is) I would jump up and down and demand more from the government.
Quiet diplomacy obviously does not work.

Kevin Rudd is in Kazakhstan and they say he will get to Indonesia in a couple of weeks....well that's just great seeing the permits expire in the next two days.

Malcolm why don't you get a little more "proactive".

Is it possible to technically bypass the export ban?

Could you sent a shipload of cattle from far north Queensland to Elders subsidiary in New Zealand and do a "high-five" handover in port and then re-route the ship to Indonesia .???

It may only require a little more diesel for the ship and some fancy paperwork.

What do you think about that?? Let me know.

I'm not really expecting a reply but if I were the boss, I would be exploring all options.

P.S I've got a couple of other ideas too.

Does anyone else have any clever ideas?
