I would love to hear your read on "stick hours", QAN v Virgin. Your comment does not seem to take in the fact that these two airlines are two different beasts entirely. e.g. QAN is a Premium airline with extensive Long Haul operations, Virgin was set up initially as a LCC for domestic opertions. Can you expand on your "stick hours" comment and let us know your thoughts in more detail please? If you want to go comparing "stick hours" between companies, you may be in for shock to see what kind of productivity QAN actually gets out of its pilots compared to some other pilots around the world who are paid higher wages.
Putting that aside, we are going down the same old path of "the pilots are greedy, they cost too much, they do not work enough etc...... The problems facing QAN are much greater than just this issue alone but some of you Pro QAN people seem to fixate on this one issue. There is more to the debate as many have posted. QAN has been on a downward spiral for a while, the SP is drowning and no dividends foe a long time now. Only management is to blame for that. They have control over the finances, operations and strategy of QAN, not the workers.
