the point is dexter if joyce has his way their jobs ARE gone 100%, sooner or later. Under his plan, what is he going to use Australian based engineers for?? Australian based pilots? bah, get more in singapore... so the argument of 'least they have a job' is invalid because right now most of the jobs have a timer set for months.
Actually the guys at Jetstar (pilots at least) are laughing right now as they get the newest planes, newest and most exotic international routes- times to become captain is 4 years in Jetstar and 20+ years in Qantas- so therefore many pilots choosing an airline right now (not that Qantas will ever hire in Australia again) would opt for Virgin and Jetstar. its sad to say but it seems Jetstar is the place for employees to be right now in the Qantas group, as the pride and joy of Joyce.
