Just thinking through the logic of that.
If I was willing to lend my stock to a short seller surely it's because I have a contrary view to the shorter? There is obviously no guarantee that short selling will be profitable.
If I believe in the stock I hold let them short it - if I am right that will result in upward pressure on my SP. If I don't believe in my stock I sell it - I don't hold.
