    Hi,
The system we have , effectively a 2 party system , disenfranchises large parts of the electorate.
Having the legislature so firmly under the control of the executive distorts debate.
Single member electorates encourage pork barrelling.
Now my system would go like this[ a mixture of US and European systems].
Australia wide proportional representation with a 2 % floor on representation.
That house then votes a prime minister by simple majority vote.
He appoints a cabinet from anywhere, each cabinet member subject to confirmation by a simple majority vote.
PM can be changed by a 60% vote , who can then change some or all of his cabinet.
Both cabinet and legislators have equal opportunity to propose legislation.

If you like, a house of review with single member electorates.

    cheers
