You could be right. IMO the specific PIOP offer that was put to FMS shareholders needed some financial re-engineering to be of true benefit to shareholders and I wasn't at any of the briefings but have heard 3rd hand that it could have also been delivered slightly better. Opportunity lost really unless some wants to drag it out, blow the dust off it, and propose a re-engineered version - it might even still work.
Can't comment on FMG as they are light years ahead of anything that was proposed in the Alliance days (sounds a bit like Star Wars).
