I asked around in our office today to find out if anyone knew of Amichi.
The bad news was thatn noone knew about it, the good news was that when I showed them the website, three of them (who use pre paid) couldn't believe how good the deal was. So good in fact, that they are switching over.

I guess the downside is that churn at this end of the market is still very high, but the upside is its still very easy to attract new customers. If they can then get those customers to opt in for empowered, they can generate big advert revenue from that business.

Someone put me onto Blik (?) in the UK. Apparently, they have a pretty radical business model where the customers pay nothing for their telephone usage.. Don't know how tru that is but I will report back.
