I have had a gut full of reading a number of annual Reports e.g. Newcrest, Arrium et al. where there are still huge Bounses being paid out when Total Shareholder Return is going backwards big time. Let's stop calling these payments bonuses, because if you get paid 50% of your Bonus for crap perfromance it's not really a Bonus but just "show up" money, i.e. sit at your desk for a year with not one positive result and you still get paid a wheelbarrow full of denero!! I worked in companies where if the total company result was not ahead of targets NO ONE got a paid a bonus from the CEO to the Mail Clerk. It's about time the Boards of Directors and Large Shareholders had a good hard look at how Remuneration is set in Public companies. Oh, hang on a minute these people probably all get paid big bonuses too. Hmmmmm!?!?
