Nobody is throwing money at MB. Funding from class actions usually comes from a portion of the winnings and is agreed upon by all parties when the firm saddles up after they estimate costs. However... I agree that proving SGH as culpable without basing it on some kind of public evidence published by ASIC is extremely difficult. The most they could probably do is base it on the timing of guidance announcements verses the timeline SGH gave to ASIC when they were queried. I haven't done a comparison myself but to my knowledge SGH were aware there was an issue for at least two weeks as they conducted a review.
