The fact is, SHV is currently almonds in this country.....
Even if Olam DIY's its own orchards, which unlikely they want to replicate infrastructure......the furtherest they can get on the value chain is a nut in a shell......What are they going to do, export the nut in its shell
SHV has its current debt because it 'shelled' out on one of the biggest almond processing plants in the world...
Just as a guide, geography of plant seems important as SHV plans to build its own plant for the orchards in WA
Maybe Olam will export the nut in the shell....cause they literally can't access the Australian market without SHV which dominates it right to the retailer level with its strong food processing and brand assets...
Good luck Olam....I'm thinking a full takeover and investing accordingly
