On a side note to that point. Personally while I think tariffs and trade wars are very bad for everyone. I think SHV would actually benefit in the situation that the US increased its trade barriers. I think you would have to assume it's US centric policy and the rest of the world would continue to have free trade agreements. China would use that as an opportunity to try and bring Asia closer togeather.
As for almonds when 83 percent are in the US that can only end badly for that the US industry If there are trade barriers. While the global demand would fall overall the rest of world supply of almonds available is dropping relatively more due to restrictions on the US.
Hopefully massive trade barriers won't happen but it would be interesting if this was an unintended consequence.

Could be wrong there though never underestimate the politicians to do something silly.
