    Surely you can comprehend SHY was first on the Greens ticket while Simon Birmingham was first on the Coalition ticket.
    You do know the 'above the line vote' provides a first preference vote to the first candidate listed on that party's ticket?

    Are you aware also that SHY only got about 0.7% of a quota in her first preferences [actually in all the Green's candidates 1st prefs] in that DD election where 12 senators are elected and the quota was 7.7% of the SA senate vote?

    If I was you I wouldn't be in a hurry to brag about SHY's voting prowess ahead of Cory Bernardi's.
    Bernardi was elected well ahead of SHY and he will serve a 6 yr term until 2022 whereas SHY as the eleventh senator elected in SA will be retiring next June and front the voters next year.
