"Mining Law in the Solomon Islands is based on the Mines and Minerals Act, which was last revised in 2014, in order to make amendments to the mining tax regime. The permitting steps are relatively simple with companies able to apply for a prospecting licence, upon meeting certain criteria, and then applying for a Mining Lease. A Mining lease lasts for 25 years, with unlimited additional renewals."
