Australian support for better transport infrastructure in Solomon Islands
Media release
9 August 2016
Today I announce Australia will continue to support long-term economic growth in Solomon Islands by investing in improvements and maintenance of roads, bridges and wharves across the country.
Australia will provide up to $42 million over five years to support more reliable and resilient transport infrastructure for all Solomon Islanders.
This funding will help to improve access to markets and services for Solomon Islanders. Australia’s support will be provided through Solomon Islands’ National Transport Fund and will also help to create new private sector and employment opportunities, especially for women.
This is the second phase of the partnership between the Australian and Solomon Islands Governments and the Asian Development Bank that started in 2011, and builds on Australia’s contribution of $37 million over the last four years.

6 Days after Japan did the above the Aus Gov then pledge $240mil Solomon Dollars or 20% better than japan's aid.
Now our delegation is over in SI, further to last months forum in brisbane,
Still looking for official notice from SI Gov, but all looking good..
