What happened "around 2000" was the first intense El Nino during the limited satellite troposphere temperature record we have.
What happened outside that was a steady trend in warming of the troposphere, superimposed on natural variability.
Of course, if you can come up with some consistent theory for the cause of your imaginary "discontinuity" you might have a point. But, you don't have any such cogent argument for that. The best you can come up with is "something happened". And you then have the cheek to call climate scientists "climastrologists"! Denial thinking at work.
