yes I very much doubt the polymer brakes are oil cooled, on tractors (ie Ferguson 165 Mk 2 ) have had in board multi disc brakes for around 50 years have been cooled by the transmission fluid - not a new idea
You mention larger hub mass although guessing a polymer would have less thermal capacity than an alloy or steel for the same mass and possibly harder to cast cooling fins into a plastic drum than a metal drum depending on method of molding .
