My workmate used to laugh at me in days gone by(for good reason at the time)for me investing in spec stocks while he held his 15000 BHP shares.
He still holds to this day, never sold any.
From memory(correct me if I am wrong)BHP hit a high of some $60.
Who would believe they are at $15 now.
In hindsight he has a paper loss from the high of nearly $630,000.
In comparison my losses probably amount to $70,000
Makes you wonder doesn't it.
