If he has no weapons, or even if he did, if he has no hostages, nobody else in the house, the cops have cordoned and contained him then who cares, let him sit it out for a week or two or three.
Cops are not going to escalate a situation that may lead to either the offender or cops being killed if it's not necessary.
Also, the offenders have all the rights now. In our politically correct little haven, protection of the public from scumbags weighs little in our so called justice system.
