What I mean about service is having someone trying to help you solve problems and do the best they can. I had an account opened up after requesting one Friday lunch time. In time to place an order on Monday.
I rang about 5 times regarding system problems and someone actually looked into and resolved the problem. I had the rep call me, email me and set up a meeting time as they should in order to get the business.
To me it indicates that they (regardless of the cost) actually want the business where as API tried to bluff me and gave me no option.
Now for the non-pharmacists the whole industry is confusing. Because of all of the issues. But for the record the last time our account had a guarantee was 5 years ago. We have never had extended credit since the business was purchased 14 years ago and one month was extended for a period.
I take your point about out of stocks, two deliveries etc. But after being told to do what we say or your discounts are zero, which they did after Friday for the order placed on Sunday. When I offered to keep 100% of my wholesale business with them whilst I had time to compare their offer, with the current arrangements it seems like a huge improvement.
