Well I guess significance is in the eye of the beholder then...
I call moving the majority of ounces from inferred to indicated significant. It cost alot of money to do that . Lots of expensive Rc and diamond drills.
I call increasing the average grade by 10% significant also.
Increasing the amount of gold above the 2g/t cutoff by 23% ...also significant
Of course , we all would've like to have seen another million ounces added to the resource, but it just doesn't work like that.
At some point they have to draw a line in the sand at konks and prove up what they got and start working on the economic studies of a known area. Otherwise you never get to mine the thing and get bogged down always trying to raise capital to grow the resource. You get perpetual dilution. You have to knuckle down at some point just get something up and running, which is what they are doing, along side regional targets , where the ounces will come easier and help to prove up the "gold province" theory.
I rememeber Andean drilled out Cerro negro up to about 3mill/oz , then started work on BFS on that resource. The resource stalled for quite some time around 2.8-3mil.oz . Then then came along Goldcorp took them over , and now the resource stands at over 5mil/oz Au-equiv. Point is, that exploration takes time and its not always about delivering new ounces just for the sake of it.
AMX may well find another 1,2 or 3mil/oz deposit somewhere else at Batie, but its better that its discovered out of free cash flow rather than out of constant dilution.
This is a thankless time for AMX and part of the orphan period that most co's must endure. But its also a time that smart investors will be buying.
