SIGNIFICANT WIDTHS OF COPPER MINERALISATION INCLUDING MASSIVE SULPHIDES FROM FIRST HOLE INTO ZONE 4 - JABAL SAYID
    April 4, 2007
    Highlights:
    • First Diamond Core drillhole on Zone 4 of Jabal Sayid Copper-Gold Project intersects massive copper sulphides.
    • 131 metres of copper sulphides, including intervals of massive sulphides, from 326m to 457m hole depth from BDH 4001 (Zone 4).
    • Massive and semi-massive sulphides successfully intersected in BDH 2015, extending the southern limit of Jabal Sayid Zone 2.
ADV Group (ASX: ADS) is pleased to advise it has intersected massive sulphides within two zones of its Jabal Sayid Copper-Gold Project in Saudi Arabia.
A significant continuous 131m intersection of copper sulphides, including intervals of massive sulphides, was intersected in the first hole (BDH 4001) drilled in Zone 4, from a depth of 326m to the hole floor at 456.8m. This intercept was substantially greater than anticipated, extending above the estimated depth of the previously defined copper sulphide system.
In addition, drill hole BDH 2015, designed to test the southern limit of Zone 2, intersected massive and semi-massive sulphides, indicating a potential extension to this lode.
Core samples for both holes are being prepared for assaying.
    Drillhole BDH4001 – Zone 4
Drillhole BDH4001, the first diamond core hole drilled at Jabal Sayid Zone 4, has been completed at 456.8m downhole. It was expected that hole BDH4001 would intersect the previously defined copper mineralisation at a depth of between 350-450m downhole. The main sulphide system was encountered at 326m and extended to the end of the hole at 456.9 metres. This zone was dominated by chalcopyrite which notably includes intervals massive and semi massive sulphides.
Encouragingly, this intersection suggests the mineralisation may be closer to surface than previously thought. Further, the drillhole intersected disseminated pyrite at a depth of 203 metres downhole that marked the start of a major stringer mineralized zone dominated by pyrite with lesser chalcopyrite that extended from 203 metres down to the main mineralised zone at 326 metres depth.
As shown in the section over the page drillhole BDH4001 was drilled at dip of 83 degrees towards 315deg through the less well defined eastern portion of Zone 4. The two primary purposes of the hole, were to provide fresh assay information, including gold and silver credits, for the block model currently being prepared by Independent Consultants, and to test for the presence of shallower mineralisation. Zone 4 is the largest of the known zones at Jabal Sayid and strikes roughly east west, dips steeply to the south is open to the east and at depth. The bulk of the mineralisation in Zone 4 is hosted in the stringer system that leads up into a massive sulphide deposit on the western margin at depth.
Ongoing ADV Group exploration at Jabal Sayid Zone 4 is targeting a potential resource of 100,000t at >3% Cu per vertical metre below the current defined lode, which remains open at depth.

In commenting today on initial results from the first diamond drillhole into Zone 4 at Jabal Sayid, Ms Inés Scotland, CEO of Vertex / Bariq said:
“This hole was drilled in a less well defined portion of Zone 4 and we were extremely pleased to intersect a significant width of mineralisation with the mineralisation coming in higher that we had anticipated.
“We have been fortunate to observe significant intervals of Massive Sulphides in the core, which is illustrative of higher grades for this style of mineral deposit.
“Apart from the obvious higher grade copper sections, we are eagerly anticipating the results for this hole, as it will give us some good information regarding the halo to the high grade mineralisation and the potential gold and silver credits in Zone 4.”
    Drillhole BDH2015 – Zone 2
Designed to extend the southern limit of the Jabal Sayid Zone 2 mineralisation, BDH2015 was completed at a depth of 326m after successfully intersecting the main sulphide system.
The main sulphide system, comprising disseminated sulphides which grades down into a chalcopyrite-pyrite dominated stringer zone, was successfully intersected at approximately 182 metres and continued for in excess of 50 metres before intersecting a rhyolite dyke faulted at approximately 252 metres with the hole completed in the footwall sequence. BDH2015 was drilled at a dip of 70 deg towards 90 deg.
    Drillhole BDH2016 – Zone 2
Drillhole BDH2016 commenced on 27 March and is drilling steadily ahead at 90 metres in hanging wall felsic tuffs, breccia and flows with minor silica and sericite alteration. The hole is targeted to intersect the copper-rich sulphide lode at 200 metres and pass completely through it by 300 metres into the footwall sequence. This hole and the next Zone 2 hole (BDH2017) on this same 8560N section are aimed at defining the Zone 2 lode shape which will help upgrade the resources to JORC indicated category
Geotechnical and geological logging and of holes BDH4001 and BDH2015 has now been completed. The core is currently being cut on site (halved) and samples are being prepared and sent for assaying progressively.
