'The wider market' probably think they can take their money and jump on the bitcoin bandwagon to earn a few gazillions - as if - and then jump back on AVB train afterward. The number of people at work jumping onto bitcoin is just crazy. One of the bitcoin trading site CoinSpot requires a ridiculous photo ID where you've got to write on a piece of paper a paragraph to state your name and that you want to trade in bitcoin or something to that effect - I forgot the exact wording - and take a photo of yourself holding that piece of paper in front of you, like a criminal.
It's so ridiculous that I had a look at it I decided I'll give it a miss. That was about 10 weeks ago when 1 bitcoin was around $5K - $6K USD. I didn't want to provide them such a stupid ridiculous photo ID. But last week when it hit $17K I saw a colleague of my taking selfie of himself to provide that ridiculous photo ID , and everyone at work talk about bitcoin.
