Bitcoin first crossed my horizon when there was no trading in it, when it was just mining, and I could have used my second hand computer to mine it at the time if I understood it. I thought idea was so stupid where a bunch of people decided to 'mine' by creating a bunch of encrypted strings and call it a bitcoin and treat it as if it's valid currency. So I gave it a miss. But, yeah, it's one of the latest craze. In hindsight it's like the kind of price that god bugs have predicted for gold for a few decades that didn't eventuate.
