I was going to ask Lord Bell this question. Please help me out folks if you can explain this in simple terms.
When unemployment rate goes up, the market celebrates because that implies interest rate will go down, However, if unemployment goes up in the current environment, that also signal the sign of a possible recession is coming, which would cause a downward correction in the market. The question I am struggling with is why the market is so happy to see bad news in employment rate ? Many thanks.
