When you do so,metadata or not , do you, in the process, produce a small file consisting of a vStub (a small container) with Video-DNA in it? Then you can store just it to reassemble a recompiled version of the original video when you want, thereby saving storeage. i.e. you don't have to download or store the actual videos. I am paraphrasing from page 3 of

Is the "VDNA" essentially a collection of URLs to the original videos?
Does Linius have tools to aid the location of the originals?
It sounds like you have access to Linius software. Can you send a forum link to how you got to do so? Were you a beta tester? I don't want the software myself but am just interested for now. Maybe later if youtubes were metadated and Google became a customer???
