I personally have no doubt we are on the brink and there's plenty of evidence from an economic perspective that suggests this.
I'm actually trying to get a feel from people and their everyday observations in life hence the reason I've started with the two examples I see as desperate measures for our State and Local Government's to maintain solvency.
Yet another example is the money that is raked in by State Governments using speeding cameras. The WA Police decided to create a visual presence at these camera's in order to gain support for a pay increase (they deserve it in my view) and the Government quickly came back to the table for negotiations.
Essentially I'm suggesting the economic model is so broken that it has resulted in our regulators counting on these forms of revenue.
