The Naalakkersuisut is ready to decide the future of the Kuannersuit

Naalakkersuisut believes that there is enough information about Greenland Minerals' project on Kuannersuit that a decision can now be made. The answer will be ready within six months

A lengthy process surrounding Greenland Minerals' plans for the extraction of rare earths and uranium on the Kuannersuit is nearing completion.

- Naalakkersuisut has assessed that there is sufficient information to make a decision in the case of Greenland Minerals' application for an exploitation permit at Kuannersuit in South Greenland. The Ministry of Minerals and Justice will now begin the preparation of a decision on whether or not to grant an exploitation permit on the basis of the available material. The company has been informed of this matter on 5 May 2022, it is stated in a press release from Naalakkersuisut on Friday.

The Naalakkersuisut will decide on the Kuannersuit within six months.
