Precisely so - because of their history, they should be more mindful of their language which was very aggresive, I'd say, the most aggressive of all European politicians towards Putin and Russia right from the start of the war in Ukraine.

I don't think that Putin would go beyond Ukraine westwards. The furtherst he would ever go would be the Dnieper River.
BUT if he does go past Dnieper and continues past Ukraine, then the collective West would forget about its NATO commitments and just throw him a "bone" in the form of Poland to keep him happy. That wouldn't be the first time that Poland got screwed by their 'allies' in the West.
